We have a faculty consisting of 15 full-time members, 10 pathologists and three full-time research faculty members, and over 200 laboratory professionals (medical technologists, histotechnologists and cytotechnologists). Our faculty members have subspecialty expertise in most areas of anatomic and clinical pathology including genitourinary pathology, gastrointestinal and liver pathology, neuropathology, breast pathology, gynecologic pathology, bone and soft tissue pathology, hematopathology, cytology and fine needle aspiration biopsy, thoracic pathology, transfusion medicine, molecular pathology, medical microbiology and immunopathology.
We have a combined anatomic and clinical pathology residency program with 16 accredited positions. Our faculty and residents teach the medical school and dental school second-year pathology courses (including lectures, small group sessions and laboratory), and we offer third- and fourth-year medical student electives, as well as rotations for trainees from other institutions.
Our goal is to provide exceptional quality in patient care, education and research collaborations, in a collegial and rewarding professional environment focused on continuous process improvement.
